
In her talk on 11 October 2021, Dr Helen Cameron reflected on our times of great insecurity, with people fearing unemployment as the furlough scheme comes to an end and employers rebuild their businesses after the restrictions end. Against this context, Helen considered how the church can be a community of hope.
Helen is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Baptist Studies, Regent’s Park Oxford. She has run a job club at her local church. For three years she was on the board of the Employment Related Services Association which influenced government policy on unemployment. As a practical theologian, she has worked in or with Anglican, Methodist, Baptist and Catholic colleges.
